Writing might be repetitive, boring, and difficult. It takes effort, skill, and countless edits to make it right, to transform what you had in your mind into something people can understand without getting bored.

Now with AI, it’s very tempting to use Claude, or ChatGPT, to write something, or just use a dictation app because who wants to write anymore, right? But if you think that what you want to communicate is not worth the effort of sitting down and articulating it as a human being in writing form, perhaps it was not so important after all.

Writing is not only a dump of your thoughts, but it’s an exercise to organize your thinking, to articulate better what you had in your mind, to summarize some things, even to realize you were wrong sometimes.

Why would you think that if you didn’t take the time to write it, people will take the time to read it? Whenever I read something online and see some signals of AI-generated copy (like the infamous —), I skip it.

My rule is simple: if you don’t have time to write it, I don’t have time to read it.
